Diego Lopez is a second-year graduate student that obtained a BS degree in Molecular and Microbial Biology from the California State University, Stanislaus. As an undergraduate, he worked on creating novel strains of saccharomyces cerevisiae using cell fusion and CRISPR-cas9 technology. Diego’s interests include investigating the link between the effects of perinatal immune insult on the establishment of a functional immune system and increased susceptibility to autoimmune diseases.
