Graduate Students
Gabriel Leung is a third-year PhD student in quantitative and systems biology and earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of California Santa Cruz in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental biology. While at UCSC, he was fascinated by the mechanistic ordering of biological systems and this curiosity was further developed as he did undergraduate research under Dr. Grant Hartzog in chromatin remodeling. His interest in biological mechanisms led him to developmental biology and in Dr. Beaudin’s Lab, he studies fetal immune development. His project focuses on the effect of IL-7 signaling on the specification, differentiation, and proliferation of tissue-resident macrophages. With his interests in biological mechanisms and mammalian development, he looks forward to contributing to the body of knowledge relating to tissue-resident macrophage development.
